Friday 11th November - Update

Remembrance Day

Today we remembered. The children have been reciting war poetry, making poppies and wreaths, singing songs and writing their own poems. This afternoon, the school joined together for a very special assembly to share their work. Yesterday, we welcomed Reverend Frank into school to deliver our Remembrance assembly.

Family Read Event

Our next Family Read event is on Tuesday 15th November at 2:45pm for Key Stage Two (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6). We look forward to welcoming family members into school. A text message will be sent out on Monday to confirm attendance.

Odd Sock Monday!

As part of our Anti-bullying week, next week, we would like to invite the children to wear odd socks on Monday 14th November. Throughout the week, the children will be participating in a range of activities in class and in assemblies. More to follow next week!

Children in Need 2022

Children in Need activities will be taking place across school on Friday 18th November. Children are invited to attend school in brightly-coloured or spotty clothing. If you wish to make a 50p donation to Children in Need, then please send in with your child. A reminder, that this is a voluntary contribution; it is not expected at all.

Year 4

Mr Hancock has been teaching year 4 this week, and will be teaching again next week, whilst Miss Whitley is not in school. Miss Gallagher will be hosting parents’ evening appointments on Monday for year 4 parents and carers. Please contact the office on Monday morning if you have not already booked an appointment.

Year 5 Class Assembly

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for the year 5 class assembly. It was great to hear so many interesting facts about our Solar System and to learn more about The Day of the Dead. I am sure you will agree that the children sang beautifully and did a super job today.

Dates coming up and reminders!

  • The year 2 class assembly will be held on Friday 25th November at 10:30am.

  • For anyone that missed the flu vaccination the first-time round, then our mop-up clinic will take place on Friday 25th November. If you have any questions then please contact the school office.
