Friday 29th April - Update

Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and that you were able to have some quality time in preparation for another busy term ahead. The children have started the new term with flourish and I have been very impressed with how quickly they have settled back into the school routine.

We had visitors in school this week and they were impressed with the hard work of the children and the behaviour around school. Well done everyone!

I have updated the school calendar (follow the link) for this term and as you can see there are lots of activities planned. More information for each activity will be sent out nearer the time and I will keep you up to date via the blog if anything changes.

Please spread the word about this blog, it is our main source of communication and it enables me to keep you all up to date with what is going on in school.

I look forward to seeing you all soon.

No Nuts Policy

Please do not send any food into school that contains nuts.

We have some children who are allergic to nuts and therefore we have a no nuts policy.

Please read ingredients carefully as some chocolate spreads, biscuits, sweets and cakes (and other foods) contain nuts.

We appreciate your support with this matter.

Bank Holiday Monday

A reminder that school is closed on Monday (2nd May) because it is the Spring Bank Holiday.

Reception and Year 6 Heights and Weights

The school nurse team will be in school on Thursday (5th May) to measure the height and weight of each of the children in Reception and Year 6.

It will be presumed that all children will take part.

If you do not wish for your child to be measured, please complete an “opt out” form. This can be collected from the office.

Years 5 and 6 Residential Parent Information Meeting

I will be holding a parent meeting on Friday 6th May at 2:30pm to give more information about the Year 5 and 6 residential and to give you an opportunity to answer any questions. Look out for a text early next week asking you to confirm your attendance (or not).

SATs

Throughout May, Year 2 will be completing their KS1 SAT Assessments.

During the week beginning Monday 9th May Year 6 will be completing their KS2 SAT Assessments.

Please avoid booking appointments during this time.

We try and make the process as stress-free as possible, but it will not be unusual if your child says they are feeling a bit worried. A little bit of reassurance and I am sure they will be fine.

Please let us know if your child is worried and we can support them in school.
