Sports Day - More information

Sports Day will take place on Monday 4th July at 10am.

Children should wear PE Kit on this day, ideally they should wear a t-shirt in their team colours.

Please ensure that the children have their water bottles with them.

If it is hot then a hat would be advisable.

Parents should enter via the Sales Lane gate.

There will be designated areas for parents, enabling movement to see all classes.

Each class will have a designated area, where they will complete their races.

Little Winners will run in the Nursery field; parents will watch from the Trim Trail area.

Little Stars and Reception will be racing in the MUGA; parents will watch from outside the MUGA.

Year 1 and 2 will be on the field, next to the MUGA. Years 3 and 4 will be next to them, with Years 5 and 6 at the far end of the field. Parents will watch from along the tree line next to Sales Lane.

Parents will be able to move around to watch different classes race.

Sports Day will last about an hour (although Little Winners may go in before this!).

Holidays during term time

I have had a number of parents requesting holidays during term time.

As part of JTMAT policy, all requests for holidays during term will be declined.

I completely understand that sometimes, due to circumstances, holidays during term time might be unavoidable. Let me reassure you that if your child’s attendance is good, then the risk of fining is small.

However, if your child has poor attendance, you have more than one holiday during the year, or a lengthy period of absence, then a fine is possible. Please note that all adults with parental responsibility will be fined, including separated parents, step parents or guardians.

I would still like you to be honest with us, so if you are planning a holiday in term time, please complete a leave of absence form from the office, this will be for our records. Many thanks.

Stay well, stay safe. And let’s all stay kind.

Miss Goodson
