Year 2 Home Learning - Week Beginning 27.04.2020

Hello Year 2!

We have finished week 5. Well done everyone you are doing so well!

I have enjoyed speaking to a few of you again this week, it has been so lovely to hear how enthusiastic you are about the work and activities you are completing. We are all loving this lovely weather that we are having, it is definitely helping us all!

There has been some lovely work on the showcase this week. Thank you to Seren-Grace and Harriet for your photos. Seren-Grace I hope you have enjoyed writing to you pen pal and Harriet I hope your lasagne was delicious! Lets see if this week we can get more work from Year 2 on the show case as we only had the two this week.
My challenge to you all is to send a photo of something you get up to in the next week. I would love to be able to name all of you when I post next Friday.

Thank you as well to all of you that have sent me messages via the website, it makes me so happy when I receive them. Remember if you want to send me a message you can via the button on the class page.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the website links on the main class page. As well as the work uploaded here there are a number of different free resources available as well as celebrities completing live sessions for the children to get involved in. Yes, I am still completing ‘PE with Joe’ most days and the story times with Oliver Jeffers and David Walliams are also brilliant just to mention a few. When I have been in school the children have also really enjoyed cosmic kids yoga, these are great fun and linked to a story, why not have a go and see what you think. BBC Bitesize have also started some free daily lessons that you could look at. They have a daily schedule and the lessons can be found on the BBC Bitesize website. There are lesson for English and Maths (this weeks is linked to money) as well as other curriculum subjects.

Below are the links for this week’s home learning. There is a range again for you to have a go at, remember it is up to you as a family how much and which parts you complete. The main Maths focus this week is measuring length and height, as well as the work on the links maybe you could have a go at using a ruler or tape measure to measure a range of different objects around the house. I have also completed other Maths activities to allow the children to keep practicing these skills.
