To all of my super year 4 children. It has been great to speak to many of you as well as seeing some of the work you have produced. Here is this weeks Maths lessons. Battle of the bands results.

A massive well done to everyone who has took part in this weeks battle of the bands. As a class, Year 4 achieved a very impressive score of 2543 points.

Starter- Can you use column subtraction to work out the answers to these questions?

Wednesday

Starter- Tom has £10.00

He spends £4.60 on a pot of Jam. He also spends £1.20 on a loaf of bread.

How much change will Tom receive?

Lesson: Interpret time graphs.

Thursday

Starter- The number is 36.

How many different ways can you make the number 36. You may use addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.

An example. 6 x 6 = 36. Can you make at least five more different ways?

Lesson- Construct a time graph.

Friday

Starter- Can you write at least one full set of timetables for your chosen timetable to practice.

Example: (I want to get better at my 8’s.) 8 x 0= 0, 8x1=8, 8x2=16, 8x3=24 and so on up to 8x12= 96. If you want to challenge yourself further see if you can go past multiplying by 12.
