Starter: Can you order these from the smallest measurement to the largest measurement?

0.2km, 300m, 50mm, 30cm.

Arithmetic

This week I would like you to learn about dividing by 2 and dividing by 4. Dividing by 2 is the same as half halving a number. Dividing by 4 is halving the number and then halving the half again, therefore it splits into four.

The link below will load up topmarks, where you can click on the maths game ‘hit the button’. Once you have clicked on this game, please select ‘ division facts’ and then select ‘dividing by 2’ and after completing a few games on this. Select ‘dividing by 4’.

Tuesday

Starter: Can you round these numbers to the nearest 100? When rounding to the nearest 100, you need to look in the tens column and if the number is 4 or lower you round down, if it is 5 or more you round up. Remember this question is asking for the nearest 100.

Example: 582, would round up to 600. 548 would round down to 500.
