Year 6

Welcome from Miss Hughes!

Welcome to our Year 6 class page! I am Miss Hughes, and I am delighted to be teaching Year 6 children in their final year of primary school. I have been teaching at Winshill for the past 6 years and actually taught my current class when they were in Year 2! I am joined this year by Mrs Brown, Miss Evans and Mr Nye.

Year 6 is a really exciting stage in a child’s primary school learning experience where they continue to develop their independent skills and get ready for the transition to secondary school. This year, we will be covering a wide range of topics including World War 2, light and reflection, circuits and many more, where the children will have the opportunity to explore using a hands-on approach.

I am really looking forward to seeing the children grow, not only academically but also personally, as they take on new challenges. Please check this page regularly for updates, news, and useful information about our learning journey.
