Year 2 Maths Home Learning - 01.02.2021 - 05.02.2021

Hello Year 2,

It was so lovely to see some of you on zoom last week. I especially loved all of the work you shared with me, you should all be so proud of yourselves. I have been really enjoying receiving pictures of all of your hard work on my email, keep sending them in.

Below is your maths learning for this week. Have a go at each lesson and remember to send photos of your work to me using my email address on the class page. I will be expecting at least one email from you per week so that I can see your amazing work.

Please remember that any worksheets do not need to be printed, they are there to support and guide you and you can have a go at these activities on a piece of paper at home.

Here is our Maths Key Vocabulary Glossary for Year 2. This can also be found on our Class Page under the Maths Heading. The glossary will outline the key vocabulary we use in our year group as well as providing a definition and example for each.

Throughout this week I would like you to try and spend 15 minutes a day on TT Rockstars. I would like you to set yourself a realistic challenge of how many levels you think you can move up throughout this week. I will be checking on Friday to see who has improved throughout the week.

Maths - Arithmetic

Starter - For our starter today I would like you to practice adding three 1-digit numbers together. Remember to look for number facts that you already know to help you. Watch the video below to support you with this.

4 + 6 + 3 = 1 + 5 + 5 = 2 + 4 + 8 = 7 + 3 + 9 = 9 + 2 + 1 =

During today’s arithmetic lesson I would like you to practice your pictorial representations of subtraction. Use the videos below to support you.

Complete the subtractions below on your own. Get an adult to check if they are correct. Draw tens and ones to support you and make sure you draw these accurately.

51 - 23 = 47 - 12 = 68 - 49 = 43 - 17 = 54 - 22 = 83 - 45 =

Once you have completed the subtractions above have a go at these worded problems. Watch the video below to show you how I would like you to set this out. You can choose between a part-whole model and a bar model for your representations.

If you have time, have a go at the 2 challenges below.
